EV Experts are surprised by the Government’s decision to push back the ban on new petrol and diesel cars being sold after 2030.  Decoupling reliance on fossil fuels brings about energy security for the UK, which has made huge progress in generating electricity from renewable sources.  So far Britain has led the way with its goals for clean air and energy independence and the switch to electric cars is an important part of that success.

Car manufacturers have affirmed that they remain on track to meet the earlier deadline of 2030 and we know that this announcement will not affect the healthy supply of electric vehicles coming into the secondhand market.  Business on our forecourts remains positive, in fact we have been busier than ever with enquiries and interest.  We do not expect the Government’s decision to impact our ability to provide a broad selection of really good carefully selected EVs as the largest independent specialist in the UK.  We hope and expect drivers to switch to electric as and when the time is right for them and we are here to help our customers on that journey, finding the right EV for their lifestyles.
