Off to capture some Autumn sunshine on the beautiful Isle of Wight, we used the 7kWh charger right opposite the entrance to the Red Jet fastcat service. As regular visitors to the island we had registered with EV Charge.Online already and hooking up to a charge was straightforward through the app. We paid a reasonable 30p/kWh and charged the car to 80%. Parking charges still apply (we park there anyway even if not charging). https://evcharge.online/
If the charger is not available we just top up before heading home on the rapid charger at the Holiday Inn or at Ikea – both within half a mile of the Red Funnel terminals.
If you are heading across to the island with your EV, Red Funnel is offering a 25% discount for fully electric cars and small vans crossing the Solent via Southampton until 31 December 2024. Bookings must be made using the booking widget on their website. https://www.redfunnel.co.uk/special-offers/electric-vehicle-offer
