Great news today for Surrey residents who need easy public charging to make the switch to an electric car. Surrey County Council and chargepoint infrastructure provider, Connected Kerb, have announced the largest deployment of EV chargers by a UK local authority. Their plan is to deliver over 5,000 fast charging points by 2027 and to lead the installation of 10,000 by 2030. This will see installations at over 1,500 locations in Surrey including residential streets, key hubs and public car parks.
Have your say on where these chargepoints should be installed by suggesting locations on their online map here: https://surreyev.commonplace.is/ or on the Connected Kerb website where you can find out how they make EV charging a breeze: https://www.connectedkerb.com/drivers
A mix of chargepoints will be installed to suit all needs and budgets. There will be slower 3kW and fast 7kW/22kW and, where suitable, rapid chargepoints. Their product range includes free-standing and wall-mounted solutions which will also cater to those with accessibility needs. Hurrah!
