In an epic and very successful roadtrip yesterday, we stopped to charge three times (fitting in with our own comfort requirements and plans). At each stop the charge started first time using contactless pay by card, we didn’t have to queue and the speed of charging achieved was as expected. For example at bp-pulse we got 48.2kW from a 50kW charger all the way to 65% state of charge which was plenty to get us to our next destination.

It isn’t always like that we know, but more and more we are finding that charging on the road does not mean a drama llama!  For this trip a big Bravo to #gridserve on the M6 south of Manchester, to #bp-pulse on the University of Birmingham campus and to #instavolt at the hub in Banbury just off the M40. It wasn’t all coffee and comfort breaks, we also took in the Lapworth museum of geology, kept up to date with emails and bought a Kia EV6. Living the electric dream!
